Some of these essays you will be given already crafted topics, while others you will b required to start from the scratch. These include you crafting for yourself your own unique topic then build it from there. This is the most difficult part because students find it difficult to come up with a very good topic one which they can build on to produce a Magnus opus of an essay. There are a few tips here and there that might help you in crafting your own essay from scratch. Once you are well aware of these steps know, you will now be in a better position to write an essay about practically anything.
Choose a topic
If you are building an essay from scratch it should not be a hard one compared to being given an already crafted topic which you may not be in a good position to handle it. If you are a person who reads a lot then you must have a host of interesting things you would like to discuss. Choose a topic that you are excited to talk about. One which you fully understand and have a host of points on it. This is the first and the most important step on how to write an essay from scratch.
Develop a thesis
Thesis is an important aspect as it is the controlling statement for your essay. Without it, then you will not be in a better position to develop a free flowing and coherent essay. If you find your thesis not in line with your original plan then you are free to change it.
Crafting an outline
Ensure to develop a proper outline as this will give you an easier time writing your essay. This will also allow you to plan your ideas in a coherent manner and avoid you mixing up things. Each section of your essay should be written correctly with the right information.
Write a rough draft
Once you have the thesis crafted and the outline finished, you can begin to draft. Since so many students write their rough drafts on the computer, many of them edit as they go. This is not the best idea, because it tends to stifle their creativity and flow. It is always best to write the draft first and then return to it for editing. This way, you will be able to see the entire essay and not miss any of the vital parts.
Edit the essay
Once you have written your rough draft then it is time for you to go through your essay from the beginning to the end. If you can edit it on your own then fine but most students will pass their essays on computer softwares which automatically scan for grammatical and mechanical errors. Ensure to that before submitting your work to your instructor that all errors have been removed. This will ensure that your essay gets the highest marks possible.
